I do not like the phrase “diaper wipes”. I mean really, am I wiping a diaper when I use them? No!
I had a thought. What? My brain does occasionally let a stray thought escape. Since we are switching to cloth diapers, why not go one step further and switch to cloth wipes as well? Better yet, why not make some? Novel idea, that.
So after we put the wee lad down to bed, I sent the Rogue to the craft store with a list. [evil laugh] He brought home some flannel that could not be more perfect for wiping our wee spawn’s tushie. Scull and crossbones – perfect for the toxic waste they will need to deal with.
Now while it is fine to use the wipes dry or just wet with water, there are a number of wipe solution recipes out there. I looked at a few and am going to wing it with my own version, based on what I have on hand.
2 cups distilled water
2 teaspoons Dr. Bronner’s Pure-Castile Soap (I am using lavender this time)
2-3 drops of Tea Tree Oil (for it’s antibacterial qualities)
Mix and put in a spray bottle or if using a wipes container, pour enough to moisten wipes. The TTO should prevent any mildew.

I would never have thought about making my own wipes, let alone creating a solution for them! You are a genius… please don’t let that go to your head!
Thank ye!
But but… I need a bit more air in my head!
